The Job You Will Perform:- Demonstrates personal commitment to safety and creating a proactive and caring culture
- Manages mechanical maintenance technicians to provide quality maintenance repair services for mill area departments
- Lead and direct the power and recovery mechanical maintenance team to deliver results in the areas of safety, engagement, and reliability.
- Ensures mill adherence to the principles of MWS
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly direct reports
- Ensures accurate and complete use of CMMS Databases – knowledge of CMMS is preferred
- Ensures that a consistent scheduling and shutdown process is in place
- Assists and coordinates area routine and outage work with planners and operations personnel
- Manage costs to budget/input in the budgeting process
- Establishes clear expectations for quality of work
- Responsible for the portion of availability as it applies to shutdown management and failures
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities with operation leaders.
- Responds and assists to after hours area downtime emergencies as required.
- Establishes clear expectations and execution of precision work practices within shop
- Commitment and ownership to precision maintenance and reliability for area.
- Supports and drives area reliability systems (RCFA, PM/PdM, Precision Maintenance, etc.)
- Lead and serve as a contract coordinator for repairs as required by the area.
- Serve on a weekend duty team rotation for the maintenance.
- Ensures a high degree of quality, safety, and discipline utilized in preparation and execution of maintenance work
- Manages on-site General Presence Contractors as required
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and GCF's Standard of Ethics and Code of Corporate Conduct.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2-5+ years of pulp and paper industrial maintenance experience required
- BS Degree in Engineering
- Preferred - 5+ years of progressive experience managing maintenance systems
- Preferred - At least 2 years' experience managing/supervising people
- Preferred - Completion of Onboarding or Franklin Setup Curriculum
- Preferred - Maintenance experience in a Pulp mill or Power plant environment.
- Proficient with MS, MS Project, and SAP PM Applications
