As a Manufacturing Supervisor you’ll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

The Manufacturing Supervisor is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager. The Manufacturing Supervisor is accountable and responsible for managing departmental safety, development of Manufacturing Leads/Operators, and production. This position implements policies/procedures and ensures safe working conditions exist for Lubrizol employees. The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures that products are produced to the customer specifications and meet quality requirements.

In

this role, you will:
  • Maintain standards for housekeeping and safety.
  • Promote safety and safety initiatives to ensure an incident‑free work environment.
  • Monitor the daily production of Manufacturing Operators.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and the manufacture of high‑quality products that conform to individual customer specifications.
  • Monitor employee productivity, quality, teamwork, attendance and attention to detail. Complete timely employee performance reviews.
  • Communicate effectively with employees to maintain a healthy and positive working environment.
  • Regularly monitor order volume, perform capacity analysis and workforce adjustments to maximize labor utilization and output.
  • Investigate non‑conformances and customer complaints regarding products and recommend permanent manufacturing improvements to correct and prevent recurrences.
  • Monitor manufacturing of customer orders for timely shipment and workforce capacity analysis.
  • Manage the performance of employee workforce through effective communication and timely performance management.
  • Diagnose manufacturing problems and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Plan, promote and organize training activities related to product quality and Manufacturing Operators.
  • Work with other departments to coordinate support activities to keep production operational.
  • Implement and maintain 5S standards.
  • Observe and promote Company standards and policies.
  • Support and promote the three (3) Company Pillars:
    People, Customers and Enterprise Operations.
  • Understand current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in medical device and clean room environments.
  • Anticipate the need for materials and supplies required to maintain uninterrupted production for the current and subsequent shift and ensure restocking is accomplished in a timely manner.
Direct Reports
  • Direct supervision of up to 5 Production Leads
  • Direct supervision of up to 100 Manufacturing Operators with the assistance of Production Leads.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • Successful completion of four‑years of high school, or equivalent, plus completion of two years of college or graduation from a two‑year technical college with an associate degree.
  • Concentration in either manufacturing, operations, engineering, or business management.
  • Five to seven years of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Lean Manufacturing Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Experience with data acquisition and mathematical analysis and conclusions. Use and knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Able to effectively make and present presentations in both large and small group settings.
  • Experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing setting, including distribution of work, scheduling, training, answering questions related to work, problem solving, performance management and discipline.
