Business Assistant

Forward Dental – Franklin is looking for a dedicated Business Assistant to join our team. This full‑time position requires a personable, hard‑working individual who enjoys helping patients and keeping the front office running smoothly in a fast‑paced, goal‑oriented environment.

Schedule
  • Monday: 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 6:45 AM – 2:00 PM
Compensation

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour

The Role
  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression.
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office.
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage.
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job functions; regular HIPAA training aligned with the role will be required, and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting.
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
  • TB testing required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN).
