Position

Summary

This position is responsible for verification of information during patient registration process, direct incoming phone communication to appropriate location and person within the organization, and for the scheduling of future patient appointments. This position is responsible displaying a positive company image while providing excellent customer service to ensure a desirable visit for patients and visitors. This position is a "FLOAT" role, meaning you will be covering multiple locations per week.

  • Provideinformationconcerningoutstandingpatientbalancesandcollectoutstandingfunds.
  • Collectco-paysand createpatientreceipts.
  • Schedule appointmentsfollowingthePPWScheduling

  • Answera multi-linephoneandtransferappropriately.
  • DemonstrategeneralknowledgeofASC and clinic proceduresandanswersgeneralquestionsrelatedtothem.
  • Apply appropriate customer service skills and proactive communication when dealing with patients.

    Speakclearlyandinamature,professional manner.
  • Maintain the patient waiting area in a neat and clean condition.
  • Demonstrate patience, compassion, kindness and empathy. Provide clear explanations of appropriate patient-relatedpoliciesandalways maintain safety and dignity of patient.
  • Ensurepatientschedulebyremindingproviderofservicedelays.
  • Assistillordistraughtpatients,as necessary. Telephonetaxisorfamilymembers,where necessary,fortransportation. Notify ASC RN Manager or designee of difficulties.
  • Ensureallvendors/visitors sign-inandwearappropriateidentification.
  • Responsibleforincomingcash,checks and creditcardreceiptsuntilbalancedand depositedbymanager/designee.
  • Openandsortallofficemail.

    Deliveroutgoingmailto postofficeatendofday.
  • In addition,havedemonstratedcompetencyandroutinelype1formdutiesinatleastoneofthefollowing:
    • Resource:
      Liaison between site and off-site staff and RN Manager. Responsible for day to day monitoring of workflow and scheduling in the outreach areas; act as a resource to the staff for operational issues and to any other customer who needs assistance. Work with RN Manager to assist with new locations in terms of workflow, IT equipment, contacts, and staffing.
    • Administration:
      Assist site manager with duties such as time keeping, scheduling, staff evaluations, invoices, petty cash, etc. Help support corporate Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement initiatives as a member of the team.
Qualifications
  • High Schooldiplomaorequivalent.
  • Atleast fiveyearsofrelatedexperiencerequired;preferablyinahealthcaresetting.
  • Strong organizational,judgment,communication,andanalyticalskills;sometimesunderpressure.
  • Ability to promote favorable PPW image with patients, providers, insurance companies and the public.
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment and independently, to provide excellent customer service.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities. Frequently contributing to the improvement of the department and participate in committee participation, task force, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
