About the Opportunity

The Medication Aide is responsible for safely administering prescribed medications and treatments to residents who require assistance, while ensuring compliance with all state regulations, community policies, and best practices. This role plays a critical part in supporting resident health, safety, and well‑being through accurate medication administration, detailed documentation, observation, and communication. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to providing exceptional resident care.

Essential

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
  • Observe residents during medication administration and report concerns, changes in condition, or adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate medication documentation and medication administration records (MARs).
  • Respond to resident needs, including PRN medication requests, and monitor effectiveness.
  • Complete medication cart audits, controlled substance counts, and medication inventory management.
  • Follow infection control procedures and safety standards.
  • Protect resident rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Report medication errors, safety concerns, abuse, neglect, or policy violations promptly.
  • Participate in care planning, team meetings, and required training.
  • Assist with resident care and other community responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Current CBRF certifications required:
    Standard Precautions, First Aid & Choking, Fire Safety, Medication Administration.
  • Previous Medication Aide or direct caregiving experience required.
  • Strong communication, observation, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and remain calm in emergency situations.
