6+ years experience with software engineering, software development, or system operations. Knows their way around a Unix/Linux shell, can write shell scripts, and understands Linux internals. Experience designing, building, and operating large scale production systems. Knows Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar. Understands networking and messaging, especially between services. Has hands on experience using source control (Git, Git Hub) and feature branching strategies.

Experience with a variety of open source databases (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, etc.) Focus on developer/Software Eng. skill set for the SRE team, with knowledge and hands on experience with a version control system (VCS), a CI tool like Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops, automation experience, CD with tools like Jenkins, Octopus, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Containerization using docker, etc.

Sound knowledge on scrum or Kanban process. Participation in sprint planning, work on automation user stories as part of sprints, be part of daily standups and provide feedback in retrospectives. Have a good understanding of one of the two areas SQL infrastructure or web services. Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems. Experience in debugging production issues across services and levels of the stack.

Experience with monitoring alerting using technologies like Prometheus, Sensu, Nagios, Kafka, Wavefront, Moong Soft, Data Dog, Pager Duty. Experience in Power Shell or Python experience, specifically for systems automation. Good Communication:
Engineer should work with Application, Business & Internal team to operationalize operator and business dashboards
