summary

we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented plant accounting manager to oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities for our manufacturing plant. This position plays a critical role in managing cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls to support operational efficiency and profitability.

essential job functions

  • manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the plant, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, accounts payable/receivable.
  • develop and manage plant budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes in alignment with corporate goals.
  • maintain accurate standard costs and analyze variances related to materials, labor, and overhead.
  • prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
  • monitor and analyze manufacturing kpis and cost trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • ensure compliance with gaap, company policies, and applicable local/state regulations.
  • collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to provide financial insights and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  • support internal and external audits and manage sox compliance.
  • liaison with corporate financial staff, as required.
  • contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines

qualifications

education and/or experience

  • ba in finance, accounting or business administration
  • ten years’ experience with lean manufacturing is preferred

certificates, licenses, registrations

  • knowledge of six sigma, green belt certification is preferred
  • cpa or mba preferable

language skills

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in english.
  • conversational in any other language is a plus.
  • a team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.

job skills

  • understanding of value stream accounting/lean accounting.
  • able to introduce/implement lean metrics (kbms or kpis dash boards).
  • competent in the application of accounting, finance, auditing, and cost control technologies.
  • capable of analyzing complex and abstract data; and reasoning and reaching conclusions without continued guidance of standards, precedents, or direction from others.
  • an energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
  • competent in participative management, team approaches and other management techniques for work accomplishment and problem solving.
