Manager, Environmental Health & Safety
At Campbell’s, the Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will lead OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance efforts across the plant. The role provides leadership and development for EHS matters, manages EHS staff, and reports to the Site Director.
Responsibilities- Establish and implement site-specific Health and Safety programs.
- Partner with Quality, Sanitation, and Maintenance to integrate EHS objectives.
- Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, hazard prevention, and employee health.
- Conduct operational hazard assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Train staff on mandatory OSHA training, first-aid responders, and operational hazard guidelines.
- Lead injury management, oversee workers’ compensation claims, and identify root causes.
- Champion a safety culture and facilitate safety committees and teams.
- Manage local EHS staff, participate in the site leadership team, and implement an integrated business plan.
- Be available 24/7 to address high-risk EHS issues promptly.
- Lead change initiatives, manage multi-project priorities, and influence employees to embrace change.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across departments to support EHS initiatives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental, health, and safety risks and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance EHS knowledge.
- Lead investigations of EHS incidents, establish corrective actions, and monitor performance metrics.
The Manager reports directly to the Site Director.
Qualifications- Must have
- High School Diploma.
- At least five years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field.
- Experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
- Certifications such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
- Knowledge of OSHA and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and employee interface skills.
The position involves both office and plant floor work, including exposure to industrial noise, forklift traffic, moving mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
Compensation and BenefitsTarget base salary range: $102,900 to $141,500 for the advertised location. Total compensation may include additional forms of pay. Benefits begin on day one and include medical, dental, short-and-long-term disability, AD&D, life insurance, a 401(k) plan with immediate vesting, unlimited sick time, paid time off, holiday pay, free fitness-center access (where applicable), and access to on-site day-care. The company also offers a matching program up to $1,500 annually for employee donations and volunteer activity.
