Position Title:

Machinist Set Up Operator

Wage: $26-$30/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours:

6:45am-3:15pm

Machinist Set Up Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including milling, drilling, grinding, and related equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructions to determine specifications and tooling requirements
  • Install, align, and secure tools, fixtures, and work pieces using appropriate measuring instruments
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts using gauges, calipers, and micrometers to verify conformance to specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines, tools, and fixtures
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair tooling, dies, and machine components as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of setups, tool conditions, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor and manage tool room inventory, including cutting tools and spare parts
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or repaired components
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities in collaboration with maintenance teams
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S standards
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Machinist Set Up Operator Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical diploma in machining, tool and die, or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in machining, setup, or tool room environment
  • Experience with CNC machines and tool setup
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and manual work
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Manufacturing / tool room setting
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving parts
