Position SummaryAs a Production Lead

The Production Lead is primarily responsible for leading the department personnel in day-to-day activities such as scheduling and assigning duties to team members, ensuring product movement through the department in a timely manner, monitoring quality, attendance, productivity and efficiencies. The Production Lead seeks process improvement ideas and uses 5S and continuous improvement to reduce scrap, improve ergonomics, and increase output. The Production Lead maintains up-to-date training records and matrices for all department team members.
Additionally, the role attends the daily production meeting to report on safety, quality, and production issues. Directs training for personnel and suggests process guide improvements.
- Schedule assembly department personnel to assigned tasks and jobs.
- Verify subcomponents, issue pick lists to Assembly Operators, order material, and schedule set-ups to ensure accurate and timely set-ups.
- Maintain product flow through the department and coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time delivery to internal groups and customers.
- Maintain up-to-date training records and matrices for all team members in the assembly department.
- Monitor scrap/efficiency reports and communicate results to assembly department personnel.
- Attend daily production meetings to report on safety, quality, and production concerns.
- Complete team member evaluations and participate in performance reviews.
- Communicate effectively within the department and with shift leads and personnel on other teams.
- Ensure product quality meets specifications listed on the router.
- Understand and follow the SOPs and Work Instructions for the specific area.
- Update documentation and process guides through the PCO process.
- Observe and promote company standards and policies on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a medical device and clean room environment.
- Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Restock supplies for the next shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of four years of high school, or equivalent.
- Three or more months of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Mechanical abilities (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and effective human interaction skills.
- Flexible to change and possess a high degree of integrity and a “can-do” attitude.
- Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
- Able to convert units of measurement and perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
