Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the flow of goods into and out of the organization, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and receipt of products. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, verifying incoming and outgoing inventory, and maintaining detailed records to support operational efficiency. The coordinator collaborates closely with warehouse staff, suppliers, and transportation providers to optimize logistics processes and resolve any discrepancies or delays.

By overseeing compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, the role helps maintain high standards of quality and safety. Ultimately, the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator ensures that supply chain operations run smoothly, supporting overall business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and shipping documentation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment and computer systems related to shipping and receiving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule shipments and deliveries to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists for accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and inventory records.
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve shipping issues and delays promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities and update inventory management systems accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all shipping and receiving operations.
  • Assist in managing warehouse organization and inventory control to optimize space and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions.

The required skills enable the Shipping Coordinator to efficiently manage daily logistics tasks such as scheduling shipments, verifying inventory, and maintaining accurate records.
