We are currently seeking a Skilled Machinist in the OD – Night Shift.
Shift 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM.
Responsibilities- Reads, interprets and follows blueprints, sketches, and product/engineering specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC OD and equipment with minimal supervision on a Studer grinding machine.
- Make adjustments as required to maintain print specifications.
- Grind of spline shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances of .0001” - .0005”.
- Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and participate in certified operator program.
- Inspect faces and diameters using micrometers, gages and amps.
- Perform in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges.
- Perform operator maintenance.
- Perform the required measurements to assure product quality.
- Notify your Leader of all nonconforming product.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Working knowledge of Inspection Devices and Instruments.
- Ability to translate prints along with understanding of GD&T.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Shop math skills.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools is required.
- Ability to utilize visual comparator and Precision Gear Check Equipment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
