Job Description & How to Apply Below
You arrive on the floor focused on one thing: protecting our customers by ensuring every part meets spec and every process follows our Quality Operating System. You move between work cells, light booth, and gauge stations—spotting cosmetic flaws, verifying dimensions with precision tools, and partnering with operators to keep quality front and center.
Safety and compliance first
Proactively identify and report safety hazards in line with OSHA regulations.
Follow MSDS/SDS guidance for all hazardous materials you encounter.
Call out sharp edges, burrs, or broken components that could create risk.
Use proper lifting technique and sound ergonomics on every task.
Visual and cosmetic evaluation
Recognize common plastics defects—including flash, short shot, splay, burns, sink, and warping—before they leave the cell.
Assess parts under correct lighting or in a light booth to keep judgments consistent.
Apply visual acceptance criteria for color, texture, gloss, and gate appearance.
Sample and accept/reject to AQL or customer-defined visual standards.
Dimensional metrology
Measure precisely using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Verify features with pin gauges, thread gauges, and depth gauges.
Check results against engineering prints and control plans.
Interpret tolerance ranges and know when to escalate out-of-limits conditions.
Documentation and traceability
Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) records accurately.
Log in-process inspections at the required intervals during production.
Write clear Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and deviation forms.
Maintain lot, mold, and machine traceability without gaps.
Customer-specific expectations
Apply the unique visual and dimensional standards of each customer.
Follow packaging and labeling instructions exactly as the job requires.
Verify special tests—pull, torque, impact, and more—whenever customer specifications call for them.
Communication and teamwork
Explain quality issues clearly to operators and supervisors.
Escalate nonconformances following Revere protocol.
Work with production to address concerns proactively and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous quality experience preferred.
Skills and abilities
Accurate color differentiation; must pass Ishihara tests for color deficiencies with "Normal" results.
Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, engineering prints, and control plans.
Write routine reports and correspondence, including NCRs and inspection records.
Basic computer proficiency.
Confirm product characteristics using precision measurement equipment.
Translate written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions into action using sound judgment.
Solve problems with multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
Demonstrate positive, consistent communication.
Willing to pursue ongoing training to advance skills.
Physical demands
Frequent hand and finger use to seize, hold, grasp, and turn parts.
Regularly stand for 8–12 hours, with periods of walking, sitting, and reaching.
Occasionally balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Work environment
Frequent proximity to moving mechanical equipment.
Moderate noise level.
Close work near machinery where noise is typically moderate.
Close vision (20 inches or less) and reliable color identification required.
Temperatures can vary and reach up to 90 degrees; duties may be performed in hot or cold areas.
Accommodation statement
These are duties that the person holding this job MUST be able to perform. The company makes accommodations on request, if the accommodations are reasonable, and allow otherwise qualified applicants to perform these functions.
About the role
Our purpose is simple: ensure products and processes meet established standards and strengthen a quality-first culture across the organization in line with our Quality Operating System.
This overview isn’t exhaustive; responsibilities and activities may be adjusted at any time, with or without prior notice.
