Summary

This role supports mold engraving and texturing operations by preparing, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining tools to meet production and customer requirements. The position involves sandblasting, gloss application, tool handling, documentation, and quality checks, while operating equipment safely and adhering to OSHA and PPE standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with engraving/texturing or mold making, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Required

Job Duties
  • Preparing tools for engraving: mask off/sandblast jobs properly and efficiently.
  • Operates tool room equipment such as cranes, hi‑lows, bead room in a safe manner, adhering to all PPE requirements.
  • Discernment of jobs on the floor that need to be sandblasted based on job requirements and status, glass bead and oxide blasting.
  • Tool inspection, scribes, handwork, missing components etc.
  • Determines proper working order (line up) and cleanliness of tools.
  • SAP data entry and documentation.
  • Open order and complete QC documentation.
  • Apply proper gloss level application and be able to read the gloss meters; must be proficient in all gloss codes.
  • Ensure proper working order and cleanliness of tools.
  • Clean, stage and tear down molds (as instructed and with extreme care and attention) to meet production needs.
  • Run sample parts and facilitate in establishing processes for new and transfer tooling projects.
  • Responsible to follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment while working on tools.
  • Shipping and receiving; checks in tools properly and swiftly, as well as being able to properly prep the job once completed to be shipped back to the customer/tool shop.
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed in order to meet customer texturing requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in texturing / mold making.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
  • Must be able to work a standard 40‑hour work week with occasional‑moderate overtime including weekends.
  • Must be able to lift up 50 lbs., unassisted. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, stoop and grip equipment/hand tools frequently and for an extended period of time.
  • Must be proactive and show initiative in taking on and completing engraving projects.
  • Experience with etching, engraving and texturing strongly preferred.
  • Strong and confident on‑the‑go decision making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times.
  • Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, team‑centered environment.
  • Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions from Management.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
