You will contribute to both ground-up construction and tenant improvement work, typically ranging from approximately $100,000 to $25 million in project value. The position is ideal for a graduate or a professional with up to two years of experience who is eager to learn, grow, and take on diverse responsibilities within a collaborative general contracting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, zoo facilities, museums, and tenant improvements.
  • Assist in managing project engineering activities for new construction projects ranging from approximately $10 million to $25 million, as well as smaller tenant improvement projects starting around $100,000.
  • Interpret, write, and process construction documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to support scheduling, sequencing of work, and resolution of field issues, promoting effective communication and collaboration on site.
  • Participate in quality control efforts by helping to monitor work in the field and verifying that construction meets plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Assist with project closeout procedures, including documentation, punch lists, and coordination with owners, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure a smooth turnover.
  • Work closely with project teams to address challenges proactively, contribute to problem-solving discussions, and help maintain a no finger-pointing, team-first culture.
  • Represent the company professionally with owners, clients, and trade partners by communicating clearly, following through on commitments, and building strong relationships.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and project needs, stepping in to support various tasks as required in a smaller, team-oriented organization.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on project sites in the Denver metro area, supporting field and office activities as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 0–2 years of experience in construction or project engineering, ideally in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of construction management principles and project engineering processes.
  • Ability to interpret, write, and process construction documents accurately.
  • Experience or familiarity with subcontractor coordination on construction projects.
  • Knowledge of basic quality control practices in a construction environment.
  • Understanding of project closeout procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Comfort working on active project sites and managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

  • Commercial construction experience, particularly in healthcare, medical office, zoo, or museum projects, is highly desirable.
  • High character and integrity, with a commitment to honesty, trust, and follow-through.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and avoid blame-focused behavior.
  • Ability to adapt to change and wear many hats in a smaller, collaborative organization.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on delivering a great product rather than simply pursuing low bids.
  • Professional demeanor and comfort working directly with clients and subcontractors.
  • Interest in growing within a company that emphasizes long-term relationships, respect, and collaboration.
