The Blasting / Coatings / NACE Technician supports surface preparation and coating operations in industrial or construction environments. This role assists skilled blasters and painters with abrasive blasting, equipment setup, material handling, masking, cleanup, and coating application. The technician must follow strict safety protocols & industry standards while ensuring work areas & equipment remain clean, organized, and operational.
Major Responsibilities & Activities- Safely & efficiently perform abrasive blasting and cleaning techniques to prepare surfaces for coating.
- Assist with proper surface preparation, paint mixing, and coating application as directed by senior personnel.
- Follow all applicable practices, policies, procedures & industry standards related to blasting & coating operations.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during blasting & painting activities.
- Maintain all tools, blasting equipment & painting equipment in good working condition.
- Support general jobsite operations, including masking, material handling & cleanup.
- Previous experience in blasting, coatings, or related NACE Technician work.
- Rope Access preferred and willingness to obtain certification.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- NACE Certification required.
- Ability & willingness to travel as needed.
- Valid government‑issued driver’s license; TWIC card preferred.
- Ability to work in industrial environments & follow strict safety protocols.
Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
