The Outreach Victim Advocate (Temp) position is a 12-week temporary position providing dedicated advocacy and on-call support services to the participating jurisdictions of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, and Mead. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact by supporting victims, their families, and witnesses during critical moments of need. Working in close partnership with law enforcement, court personnel, and community partners, the Outreach Victim Advocate delivers crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and referrals to essential community resources.
The position also guides victims through the criminal justice system and connects them with services that promote safety, stability, and recovery.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed herein are illustrative of the essential duties of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required or assigned.
- Provides direct victim advocacy and support services across cooperating agencies.
- Conducts initial and follow-up contact with victims, family members, and witnesses.
- Reviews and interprets police reports to assess victims' needs and required services.
- Coordinates referrals to community-based resources and service providers.
- Assists with victim compensation and financial assistance applications.
- Maintains accurate case notes, documentation, and statistical data for grant reporting.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Works a flexible schedule, including on-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Collaborates with law enforcement and service providers to ensure coordinated victim support.
- Assesses ongoing victim needs and adjusts service plans as cases progress.
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field preferred.
Work ExperienceAt least 2 years in victim advocacy or related field.
Certifications/LicensesValid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

- Regularly required to communicate verbally and effectively use vision and hearing to perform job duties.
- Frequently required to use hands for fine motor tasks, including handling, grasping, and manipulating objects.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Work is primarily performed in field-based environments.
- May be exposed to a range of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, sun, wind, and snow.
- Work environment noise level is typically moderate.
