Staff Accountant

Position Overview

Kforce has a client in Frederick, MD that is seeking a Staff Accountant. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting team with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles and thrives in a deadline‑driven environment.

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Prepare financial reports and assist with variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 years of related experience
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v‑lookups preferred)
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
