Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Frederick, Maryland. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with potential for growth and progression.

Responsibilities:

- Process a high volume of invoices, averaging 300-500 per week, with precision and efficiency.

- Ensure accurate coding of invoices and accounts to maintain compliance and financial accuracy.

- Manage payment methods such as Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs to ensure timely vendor payments.

- Utilize systems such as SAP for invoice processing and reporting.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and address vendor inquiries.

- Maintain organized records of all transactions to support audits and reporting requirements.

- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.

- Work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating a problem-solving mindset.

- Support the transition to automated systems and ensure seamless integration into current processes.

Requirements

+ Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

+ 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based environment.

+ Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor payments, and account reconciliations.

+ Experience working with purchase orders, receiving documents, and inventory-related invoices.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic reporting functions.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or similar accounting software.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.

+ Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

+ Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal departments.
