Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Events & Auxiliary Services, the Distribution/Receiving and Auxiliary Services Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of campus-wide distribution and receiving activities, as well as support for duplication, events and auxiliary services activities through the execution of the following duties:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Distributes mail at North East and Elkton Station locations. Ensures timely delivery and pick-up.
- Sorts incoming and outgoing mail. Makes appropriate Post Office, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. trips utilizing vehicle provided by Cecil College.
- Receives and records incoming packages from UPS, Fed Ex, etc. Ensures items are delivered to and signed for by the appropriate individual/department.
- Supply letter head, envelopes, and copy paper for college-wide use. Deliver copy paper, completed duplication requests, and pick up empty paper boxes and used ink cartridges.
- Prepare bulk mailings ensuring accuracy in mathematical calculations to determine cost and weight.
- Order and maintain mailroom supplies. Prepare monthly report for postage and office supplies.
- Maintains accurate records (scanner log, room assignments, certified mail, purchase orders, etc.)
- Communicates with carriers regarding receiving schedule adjustments, delivery location changes, and campus closures.
- Utilizes receiving and duplication equipment, package scanners and software properly.
- Serves as main contact for mailing equipment technical service, repairs, preventative maintenance, and training.
- Inspects and operates Cecil College van utilized for shipping/receiving operations. Reports damages to the van to the Grounds Supervisor.
- Coordinates assistance from Grounds/Maintenance as needed for large deliveries requiring forklift service.
- Monitors updates to postal rates and regulations. Assists with identifying shipping methods that are most cost effective.
- Learns the College’s duplication operation and assists with duplication duties as needed.
- Assists Supervisor of Events and Auxiliary Services with event setup/breakdown and coverage as needed.
- Distributes directional signage for internal and external events in conjunction with the Supervisor of Events and Auxiliary Services.
- Provides training for back-up coverage.
- Assists other Facilities departments (Grounds/Maintenance) as assigned during any idle periods in distributions receiving operations.
- Serve on college-wide committees as needed.
