This position is responsible for providing job coaching support to the Frederick County Scott Key Center and will supervise the work of adults groups with intellectual & developmental disabilities. The Job Coach provides support and instruction to individuals at their job site throughout Frederick County. The role requires flexibility with job assignments to meet the specific needs of people working independent jobs.
Supervision may be received from the Day Support Manager, Community Support Manager, and/or Senior Community Support Manager.
- Plan and implement a job coaching strategy with an I/DD individual.
- Assess the professional strengths and weaknesses of the individual.
- Discover what motivates the individual and assist them in utilizing that motivation in the workplace.
- Assist employees with disabilities in learning and excelling in their job functions.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to ensure appropriate work behavior.
- Assist assigned workers in their relationships with employers and co‑workers.
- Compile and prepare daily progress notes, records and reports and participate in progress reviews.
- Maintain daily documentation and attendance records.
- When job coaching is unavailable, provide instruction and supervision in a Day Habilitation, Community Access or supported employment program as assigned.

Qualifications- Minimum age of 18 years at time of application.
- Experience, education or training closely related to human services or vocational rehabilitation.
- Possession of a valid automobile operator’s license.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to maintain County Authorized Driver privileges.
- Effective initiative of programs and activities with active leadership and motivation for persons with developmental disabilities, with in‑depth perception of client/employer needs and priorities.
- Proficiency with computerized systems and equipment (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, email).
- Ability to develop and maintain effective, objective working relationships with clients, co‑workers, employers and the general public.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise reports using behavioral terminology.
- Occasionally sitting, walking, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing up to 40 pounds, performing repetitive motions, and driving.
- Occasionally working indoors and outdoors, in confined spaces, noise, potential exposure to infectious diseases; required to wear protective equipment.
- Available to work varied hours for special activities, meetings, programs, etc.
- Current certifications must be maintained during tenure of employment.
