Tikvah runs a wide range of initiatives in America and Israel including educational programs, publications, and fellowships.

About the Role:

The Director of Administration & Strategic Operations will help direct human resources, risk management, and general administration across the organization. Working closely with and reporting to Tikvah’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the Director will also lead special projects that improve operating efficiency and overall operational capability.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented leader who can support core people operations and general administration across the organization. This role manages a steady flow of business agreements, supports key functions across the employee lifecycle, and coordinates internal communications and operational projects.

The ideal candidate is discreet, process-driven, and comfortable juggling recurring responsibilities with seasonal peaks. This role will also work closely with managers across the organization.

Major

Responsibilities Include:
  • Human Resources
    • Full cycle recruitment
    • Lead recruiting logistics and onboarding workflows
    • Coordinate HR-related IT tasks and access needs for staff
    • Manage employee leaves of absence
    • Lead the employee annual performance review processes
    • Support terminations and offboarding processes
    • Update and revise employee handbook annually
    • Coordinate employee training
    • Support HR compliance and personnel matters as needed
    • Track and support visa renewals
    • Coordinate HR-related staff meetings and related logistics
  • Operations
    • Manage annual operating insurance renewal applications
    • Gather required documentation and work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure Tikvah is properly insured
  • Document Administration
    • Draft, prepare, and manage agreements
    • Coordinate and process end-of-year documentation
    • Prepare and route contracts and other relevant documents for the CFAO’s approval
    • Maintain tracking systems for contract status, signatures, and deadlines
  • Internal Communications
    • Produce and distribute internal weekly communications
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect updates, announcements, and deadlines
  • Special Projects
    • Various special projects may be assigned by executive leadership
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or higher from 4-year college or university
  • 3+ years of experience in HR administration, operations, contracts administration, or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • High attention to detail, especially with contracts and personnel documentation
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfort working across departments and coordinating with multiple managers
  • Program and project management skills, with strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mentality and motivation to drive projects to completion
  • Familiar and aligned with Tikvah’s goals and mission
Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience supporting HR compliance processes and documentation
  • Familiarity with onboarding/offboarding systems and HRIS tools
  • Experience supporting visa processes (tracking and renewals)
  • Comfort managing recurring internal newsletters or communications
  • Project coordination experience across multiple work streams

The compensation range for this role is $120,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience and skill.
