The Construction Laborer plays a vital role in supporting the successful completion of construction projects by performing a variety of physical tasks on-site. This position involves assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and cleaning job sites, and handling materials and equipment to ensure smooth workflow. The laborer contributes to maintaining a safe and organized work environment, which is essential for project efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
Through consistent effort and teamwork, the Construction Laborer helps meet project deadlines and quality standards. Ultimately, this role is fundamental in laying the groundwork for the structural and aesthetic success of construction projects near the Gaithersburg and Frederick, MD areas.
Pay Range: $21/HR-$23/HR DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Previous experience in a construction laborer role or similar physical labor position.
- Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of construction site layout and terminology.
- Certification in OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety training.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment on-site.
- Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris, setting up barriers, and ensuring safe working conditions.
- Support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers by providing necessary tools and materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision to complete assigned tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to the site supervisor promptly.
