Director, Construction Management

Director of Construction Management – Data Centers - $250k + 20%-30% Bonus

Travel up to 25%

My client is seeking an experienced Director of Construction Management to oversee the delivery of major hyperscale and colocation data center developments across the region.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for managing a regional Construction Management team while providing strategic oversight across preconstruction, construction, commissioning and final turnover.

• Lead and develop a regional team of 2–8 Construction Managers.
• Oversee data center projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
• Direct the day-to-day delivery and long-term strategy of active and pipeline projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, cost forecasts and risk.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, operations, commercial and finance teams.
• Manage relationships with general contractors, MEP trade partners, consultants, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers and AHJs.
• Oversee as many as 25 external vendors on individual projects.
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety, schedule and commercial expectations.
• Develop consistent construction policies, processes, tools and performance standards.
• Recruit, mentor and develop members of the regional Construction Management team.
• Support customer discussions and ensure successful delivery against contractual requirements.

• 12+ years of progressive construction or program management experience.
• Data center construction experience is essential.
• At least five years of direct team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems.
• Experience delivering major projects for a general contractor, developer, owner or MEP contractor.
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, commissioning and project closeout.
• Experience with delivery methods including Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build and IPD.
• Knowledge of lump-sum, CM-at-Risk and open-book GMP contracts.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts and multiple external partners.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and project cost forecasts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience with Procore, BIM 360, MS Project, Smartsheet or similar platforms.
