The Construction Manager will work closely with the Lead Project Manager, clients, general contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams, and internal operations personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and under budget.

Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and hands-on experience with low-voltage construction and installation are important qualifications for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the scope, schedule, quality, and performance of low-voltage subcontractors supporting data center construction projects.
  • Oversee the installation of low-voltage conduit, cabling, controls, and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure the installation portion of each project is completed on time and within the established budget.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication between clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and the Lead Project Manager.
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop labor resource plans, construction schedules, and quality-control plans.
  • Maintain control of project scope and ensure compliance with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and applicable NEC requirements.
  • Clearly define and communicate subcontractor responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Identify scope changes and support the development, documentation, and approval of change orders.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost reports, forecasts, earned-value information, and estimated costs at completion.
  • Forecast monthly project costs and proactively address potential cost overruns.
  • Track project milestones and ensure construction activities remain on schedule.
  • Coordinate with internal operations teams to ensure appropriate resources are assigned at the proper stages of the project.
  • Provide regular progress updates to project leadership, internal teams, and the client.
  • Identify construction, scheduling, cost, quality, and resource risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Review field installations for quality, code compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, safety, and professional communication across the project team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent education and professional experience.
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in construction management, project management, or a related project-delivery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience overseeing low-voltage electrical or controls installations.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, installation schedules, field activities, and construction deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of project and construction management principles, methods, and tools.
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, scope, quality, and change orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at project locations throughout the Frederick, Maryland area.
  • Ability to work an extended schedule when project demands require it.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage conduit, cable, controls, and related installation practices.
  • Experience with industrial controls, building management systems, energy-management systems, or automation projects.
  • Experience supporting control systems, HMIs, plant data historians, or similar technologies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or comparable construction and project-management software.
  • Background supporting projects in data centers, consumer products, automotive, food and beverage, process industries, or other industrial environments.
