Position: Customer Agent I

Customer Agent I (Grade 10)

Current part-time vacancies exist within the MVA Oakland Branch (Garrett County) only. This is an interview and hire position.

The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) seeks a dynamic entry‑level customer service agent to perform a variety of duties related to vehicle and driver licensing, titling, and customer support.

Employees must work over six service delivery days, Monday through Saturday, and may be scheduled during evenings to cover MVA service delivery hours.

Responsibilities
  • Titling and registering vehicles
  • Licensing and monitoring drivers
  • Issuing identification cards
  • Licensing and regulating vehicle‑related businesses
  • Enforcing insurance and vehicle emissions inspection laws
  • Investigating non‑compliance with motor vehicle laws and regulations and other customer support functions

Minimum Qualifications

Education
:
Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience
:
One (1) year of customer service work experience. Applicants may substitute customer service work experience for required education at a rate of one year of experience for one year of education.
