Led by Dr. Michael Billings and Dr. Colleen Lisco, the team is committed to delivering high-quality, affordable dental care in a trustworthy and welcoming environment. The practice offers a full range of aesthetic and restorative services, including implant restorations, in-house crowns, bonding, veneers, whitening, and dentures.

Team members collaborate closely to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs and to maintain long-term relationships with individuals and families.
Role Description The Dental Assistant role at South River Dental Care is a full-time, on-site position based in Maryland, United States. The Dental Assistant will support dentists chairside during procedures, prepare and organize treatment rooms, and ensure instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. Daily responsibilities include assisting with patient intake, updating records, taking x-rays and impressions as directed, and providing patients with post-treatment instructions in a clear and reassuring manner.

The role involves managing clinical supplies, helping maintain a clean and safe environment, and collaborating with front office staff to support smooth scheduling and patient flow. The Dental Assistant will contribute to a positive patient experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in every interaction.
Qualifications

  • Foundational clinical skills, including chairside assisting, basic dental procedures support, and familiarity with sterilization protocols and infection control practices.
  • Competence with dental technology and tools, such as taking digital x-rays, impressions, and using standard dental instruments under the direction of a licensed dentist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds, explain procedures, and work collaboratively with the dental team.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to prepare treatment rooms, manage supplies, and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job experience; active dental assistant certification or radiology certification for Maryland is highly preferred.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, reliability in a full-time, on-site clinical setting, and willingness to learn and support a wide range of aesthetic and restorative procedures.
