Position SummaryThe Learning Assistant I provides high quality customer service to students, faculty, and the public in the Learning Commons and Library. Responsibilities include answering questions related to Learning Commons services and resources, assisting with technology, monitoring the Learning Commons desk, and supporting all Learning Commons, Learning Center, and Library processes. This position has the ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- College-level course completion with a grade of B or greater
- Prior employment, volunteer or internship
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite and Blackboard Learn
- Experience providing customer service
- Understanding of Frederick Community College systems and resources
- Ability to interact positively and respectfully with a diverse population
- Ability to maintain a helpful, professional demeanor in a busy learning environment
- Evidence of dependability, punctuality, organizational skills, and good study skills
Hours will shift per Learning Commons schedule
