Job Description SummaryWPI is seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach evening classes in the Department of Integrative and Global Studies. Positions are created to provide an applicant pool for the program and will be filled on an as‑needed basis.
Job DescriptionWe need adjunct professors to teach a unique course in social methods where students work in teams to prepare a research proposal for external sponsors.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching social research methods
- Guiding students in team goal setting, background research, research methods, critical thinking, writing, and presentation
- Providing office hours and consultation outside class time
Qualifications:
- Experience in social research and teaching social research methods is highly desirable
- Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline is desirable but not required
- Ability to work with students in the evenings (Mondays & Thursdays, 6:30–8:30 p.m.)
Additionally, the Global Experience Office (GEO) manages the Global Perspective Program with an Interactive Qualifying Project where student teams work with external sponsors on interdisciplinary projects. For more information, see our website at http://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
Compensation$6,000 per ID2050 course and $12,000 Global Projects Program Advisor.
