Adjunct Faculty – Physics

Frederick Community College is hiring adjunct faculty in Physics. The role requires teaching courses as assigned based on disciplinary needs, developing and presenting course materials, and evaluating student progress according to core learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty must adhere to college requirements, work with diverse constituencies, and employ varied teaching styles that reflect an appreciation of cultural diversity.

• Facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes using scholarly and professional tools.
• Actively engage students in critical thinking, meta‑cognitive processes, and essential communication skills.
• Infuse multicultural and diverse perspectives into instruction and conduct classes with respect for individual and cultural differences.
• Model open‑mind inquiry, appreciation for diverse perspectives, and creative problem‑solving.
• Maintain currency in academic discipline and pedagogy.
• Complete all assigned institutional and professional training.
• Deliver instruction, assess and report student learning, assign grades, and regularly communicate with students in adherence with FCC requirements.
• Adhere to instructional timelines and guidelines and utilize college instructional technology.
• Use only an FCC email account when conducting college business.

• Master’s degree in physics or in a closely related discipline with at least 15 graduate credit hours.

• Doctoral or terminal degree in physics or a closely related discipline.
• Community college teaching experience.
