rolelong-term substitute teachers are responsible for demonstrating teaching competencies, effective classroom management, and positive personal qualities. The role ensures equitable instructional opportunities for all students and creates an engaging classroom environment that supports dynamic and comprehensive learning. Instruction of the essential curriculum of each teacher’s discipline is grounded in promoting personal growth, knowledge acquisition, and understanding.
essential functions- provide for students’ instructional needs and interests through effective daily lesson planning.
- create a conducive learning environment and use classroom time efficiently.
- employ a variety of teaching techniques and instructional resources to implement approved curriculum.
- use evaluation to promote student intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth.
- demonstrate fair, firm, and consistent behavior and promote self-discipline among students.
- show effective communication and positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, staff, and community.
- guide learning toward school system goals by following board policies and procedures.
- assist administration and staff in achieving the school’s mission with ethical standards.
- strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
- supervise students in a variety of school settings.
- maintain appropriate records.
- monitor the proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- ensure regular and predictable attendance.

msde issued professional teacher certificate with appropriate content endorsement.
