WhatYou’ll Do
The responsibility of the Special Education Teacher is to support students with disabilities by providing individualized instruction, accommodations, and modifications to help them succeed. They develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff, and monitor student progress toward academic, behavioral, and transition goals. In addition to direct instruction, they help students build self‑advocacy, social, and life skills to prepare for postsecondary education, employment, or independent living.
