Adjunct, 3D Art Studio
Position Summary: Adjunct faculty in this position will teach Three-Dimensional Art Studio courses, which may include focuses such as art foundations, pottery, sculpture and jewelry design. The faculty develop and/or present course materials as requested by supervisor and evaluate student progress in adherence with core learning outcomes of assigned courses. Faculty are expected to adhere to college requirements, work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, and use varying teaching styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes using the most relevant scholarly and professional tools and practices available in the discipline.
- Actively engage students in critical thinking, meta-cognitive processes, and advancement of essential communication skills.
- Infuse multicultural and diverse perspectives into the instructional process as appropriate and conduct classes in a manner that demonstrates respect for individual and cultural differences.
- Model and cultivate open-minded inquiry, an appreciation for diverse perspectives, and creative problem-solving.
- Maintain currency in academic discipline and pedagogy.
- Complete all assigned institutional and professional training.
- Deliver instruction, assess and report student learning, assign grades, and regularly communicate with students in adherence with FCC requirements.
- Adhere to instructional timelines and guidelines and utilize college instructional technology.
- Use only an FCC email account when conducting College business.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Studio Art or closely related discipline.
- Experience teaching (community college level preferred) in Art or closely related field.
