long-term substitute teachers are responsible for practicing teaching competencies, effective classroom management, and ensuring all students have equal instructional opportunities while creating a dynamic and comprehensive learning environment.
essential functions- provide instructional support and plan daily lessons for students.
- create a conducive learning environment and utilize classroom time effectively.
- employ a variety of teaching techniques and instructional resources to implement approved curriculum.
- use evaluation to promote student growth intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
- maintain fair, consistent discipline and promote student self-discipline.
- demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community.
- guide learning toward school system goals by following board policies and procedures.
- assist administration and staff in achieving the school mission through ethical professional relationships.
- strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
- supervise students in varied school settings.
- maintain appropriate records.
- monitor use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- maintain regular and predictable attendance.

preferred qualifications- possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- capability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- familiarity with fcps policies, goals, and programs.
- possess an msde issued professional teacher certificate with appropriate content endorsement.
