Job DescriptionEagle wings Allied Health Staffing Agency LLC is hiring Special Education Teachers (including Mainstream, Specialized/Self-Contained Programs, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, Adapted Physical Education, and substitute tele-practitioners) for placements within Frederick County Public Schools.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Eligible for a Maryland Teaching Certificate that is age/grade appropriate with endorsement in special education
Preferred:
- Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs in a public school setting
- Experience with IEP development and case management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide for individual needs and interests of students through effective daily lesson planning
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning with effective use of instructional time
- Demonstrate the use of a variety of teaching techniques and instructional resources to implement approved curriculum
- Use evaluation effectively to promote student growth and development intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community
- Guide the learning process toward school system goals following board policies and administrative procedures
- Supervise students in a variety of school settings
- Maintain appropriate records and monitor compliance with state and local requirements
- Communicate evaluation summaries in written and verbal form
- Elicit parent and staff participation in development of the IEP
- Participate in the IEP Team process
- Provide case management for special education students
