Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Pharmacy Practice; Acute Care

Job Description Summary

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full‑time, twelve‑month, non‑tenure track faculty position in the School of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will provide didactic and experiential education in pharmacy practice, participate in direct patient care, develop and revise courses to meet accreditation standards, coordinate team‑taught courses, engage in scholarly activity, serve on school and university committees, and participate in professional organizations.

• Provide didactic and experiential education in pharmacy practice, specifically in acute care and related subjects.
• Participate in direct patient care.
• Develop and maintain a practice that supports interactions with other health professionals.
• Develop and revise courses to exceed accreditation standards.
• Cooperate and coordinate with others in team‑taught courses.
• Commit to scholarly activity.
• Serve on school and university committees.
• Participate in regional and/or national professional organizations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
• Completion of a post‑graduate year one (PGY1) residency or at least three (3) years of comparable clinical experience in an acute care setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Team‑oriented approach to patient care.
• Strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, research collaboration, and service.

• May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, and sitting at a desk.
• May require lifting.
• Requires communication with a variety of constituents, externally and internally.
• Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.

• Experience in didactic and experiential teaching.
• Completion of a post‑graduate year two (PGY2) in a related specialty.
• Board certification in a related specialty.

• Current Maryland pharmacy license or eligibility for Maryland licensure.

Salary: $116,500 - $135,960. Comprehensive benefits include health insurance, prescription drug, dental, vision, retirement plans, tuition remission, paid leave, wellness resources, and other standard faculty benefits.
