About the RoleA growing manufacturing organization in the HVAC and environmental control systems space is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Lead to build, elevate, and oversee its quality function. This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering professional who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment and wants to own quality systems, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position SummaryThe Quality Engineer Lead will serve as the primary authority for product and process quality across the organization. This role will develop and implement quality standards, partner with engineering and production teams, lead root‑cause investigations, and drive initiatives that improve reliability, safety, and efficiency across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities Quality Systems Leadership- Establish and maintain quality procedures, documentation standards, and audit practices.
- Ensure organizational adherence to internal quality benchmarks and industry regulations.
- Lead internal audits and support external audit preparedness.
- Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to mitigate risk and improve consistency.
- Develop inspection criteria, testing procedures, and statistical process controls.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design-for-quality and process-improvement initiatives.
- Lead investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, Pareto, and similar methodologies.
- Document findings and drive corrective and preventive actions through cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure quality alignment across the business.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to technicians and operators regarding quality standards and best practices.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing defects, improving product reliability, and increasing manufacturing efficiency.
- Support ongoing efforts to modernize and automate production processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment; HVAC or related industry experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise in root‑cause analysis tools, quality metrics, and process control methodologies.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Experience overseeing or building a quality team.
- Familiarity with electromechanical products, HVAC systems, or mechanical assemblies.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications.
