Construction CAD Operator

Frederick, MD
Custom Glass Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced CAD operator for commercial glazing projects. We are a commercial glass & glazing trade contractor located in Frederick, Maryland.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage drawings of assigned projects from turnover meetings to completion.
- Manage multiple concurrent drafting projects at various stages of development.
- Work directly with Project Managers to complete submittal drawings.
- Assist with writing timely RFIs when needed
- Responsible for understanding industry practices, processes, standards and techniques to accommodate a variety of project conditions
- When requested provide material takeoffs for pm order release.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret architectural plans, structural plans, and specifications
- Must be proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD drafting software (minimum 2 years AutoCAD drafting experience)
- Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as optimizations of materials, material cutlists, glass takeoffs, square footages, arc lengths, and chords
- Must be familiar with MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in preparing drawings for a commercial glass company.
- Experience in engineering or construction management.
- In depth experience with manufacturers such as Kawneer, Oldcastle Building Envelope, EFCO, and other aluminum architectural products
