Responsibilities
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Software Application Support Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role you will provide Operational Support and be responsible for ensuring the stability and optimal performance of our software applications.
You will act as a point of contact for technical issues, troubleshooting software errors, providing user support, and collaborating with our engineering team to implement fixes.
This will require the ability to start, stop and diagnose services running in Linux. Some software includes Apache NiFi, Datarunner, Mongo
DB, Elastic Search, AWS EC2 instances, CHAP. You will provide after-hour "on-call" support as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required
- Ten (10) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Experience maintaining, configuring and supporting complex software applications
- Experience with Linux command line and Systems Administration support
- Ability to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues, technical documents, and user guides
- Experience with technologies such as;
Docker, Mongo
DB, Mongo Compass, Elastic Search, AWS and Container Yard - Ability to proactively monitor application performance, system health checks, and database status to ensure maximum uptime
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze software issues, evaluate error logs, identify root causes
- Experience working with Atlassian tools, Jira, Confluence
- Familiarity with web application architectures, web servers (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, IIS), and APIs.
- Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Dataflow and Mission data formats
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform independently
- Strong sense of ownership to drive issues to resolution while maintaining high customer satisfaction

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
