Electrical Engineer

About The Role

Peraton Labs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support its Electronic Warfare Systems organization. This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and requires on‑site work, 5 days a week. The Electrical Engineer will perform characterization and analysis on custom, commercial based technology (CBT), and custom/CBT hybrid, RC/IED, and UAS devices.

• Physical Characterization – capture photos, dimensions, and distinguishing features of the device.
• Circuit Characterization – construct circuits, reverse-engineer designs, generate schematics, identify components, and research datasheets.
• Operational Characterization – understand the operation of device components and overall device operation; use time and frequency domain tools to determine real‑time device functioning.
• Capture and analyze communication protocol bus signals (SPI, I2C, etc.) and extract microcontroller firmware.
• RF Signals Characterization – determine operational frequencies, bandwidths, transmission RF output power, baseband data, receiver sensitivity, and capture I/Q signal samples.
• Reporting – organize and integrate all characterization data and conclusions into a coherent technical report.

• 5 years experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a BS/BA.
• RF, analog, and digital electronics experience.
• Experience using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
• Experience using power meters, oscilloscopes, and protocol analysis tools.
• Experience using firmware extraction tools, software exploitation, and schematic generation tools.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
