About the Role
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Elk Mills 1 location Procurement Team. In this role, you will own the technical relationship and quality of raw materials entering EM1 from suppliers and contract manufacturers, working in close partnership with the Strategic Category Manager to drive supplier alignment, category strategy, and continuous improvement. This involves driving and prioritizing initiatives, issue resolution, supporting quality metrics/scorecards, quality agreements, supplier corrective action requests, supplier waivers, raw material specification development, supporting trials, audits and development of SOP/process surrounding supplier quality, stability and capability.
Location:
Elkton, Maryland. Hybrid work arrangement may be possible.
- $105,000 - $145,000 per year
- Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Primary technical interface with suppliers, contract manufacturers, procurement, engineering, R&D, NPD, quality, and manufacturing.
- Partner with platform leadership, process, and quality engineers to identify and drive improvement opportunities with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Drive resolution of supplier non‑conformances and manage disposition of on‑hold material and rework activities.
- Support the development of new suppliers using a quality management system/procedures by leading the technical and sustainability assessment of suppliers.
- Support R&D on new raw material development or developments with commercial raw components.
- Own raw material specifications.
- Drive resolution of raw material issues with suppliers and communicate concerns to strategic sourcing category managers, procurement specialists, and leadership.
- Drive product performance reviews from a raw material perspective with supplier trend analysis & reviews.
- Communicate clearly and influence internal partners.
- Champion technical work for resolving supplier change‑control requests, re‑commercialization of raw materials, identifying quality issues and opportunities for supplier improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in quality and/or engineering within manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience with quality tools such as management of change, non‑conformances, customer complaints, and supplier corrective action requests.
- Strong root cause and problem‑solving skills with a detail‑focused mindset.
- Experience with process validation and risk analysis of process changes.
- Analytical, task‑oriented mindset and methodical thinker.
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams while managing multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
- Ability to analyze supplier performance metrics and influence continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Chemical or dispersion experience.
