Position: RF Engineer (SME) with Security Clearance

We are seeking a RF Engineer SME to join RSC2! We are seeking a highly skilled RF Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a contract with Project Manager Sensor‑Aerial Intelligence (PM SAI) at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This role requires deep expertise in radar system design, integration, and operational support, particularly as applied to aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radar technologies and a proven record of providing technical expertise on Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the radar technical lead and SME supporting PM SAI’s mission objectives for aerial ISR platforms.
  • Provide engineering expertise for radar payload integration, signal processing, testing, and field deployment.
  • Evaluate and recommend radar system solutions based on operational requirements and mission profiles.
  • Support system design reviews, analysis of alternatives (AoA), and development of radar performance specifications.
  • Interface with government stakeholders, program managers, and contractors to align technical performance with program goals.
  • Assist in verification, validation, and troubleshooting of radar payloads throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to systems engineering processes including requirements traceability, test planning, and configuration management.
  • Support live testing and data analysis of radar systems onboard airborne platforms.
Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant radar engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, especially related to ISR and sensor development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in radar systems, RF signal processing, and integration with aerial platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with airborne radar payloads such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) or Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI).
  • Familiarity with PM SAI or other PEO IEW&S organizations and acquisition processes.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field is a plus.

Salary at RSC2 is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $102,000 - $243,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical total compensation range for this position.
