Transportation Engineer I – Traffic (Grade 14, 8439)

Location:

Baltimore City, Hanover, or any SHA District Office statewide.

This is an entry level position. Employees assigned in the Transportation Engineer Career Program may be responsible for various traffic-related functions, including:

• Assisting in meeting project goals and developing alternatives.
• Attending public meetings and evaluating design criteria against project constraints.
• Performing constructability reviews and designing roadway plans.
• Conducting construction inspections for proposed roadway improvement projects.
• Providing traffic/travel demand information and conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis.

Education:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or agricultural engineering from an accredited college or university. Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements.

Experience:

None required.
