Open Recruitment – Interview and Hire Announcement for State Highway Administration (SHA) in Baltimore City, Hanover, or any SHA District Office statewide.
Nature of WorkTransportation Engineer I may assist in design-related functions, including meeting project goals, developing alternatives, attending public meetings, evaluating design criteria against project constraints, performing constructability reviews, reviewing and designing roadway plans, performing construction inspection for proposed roadway improvement projects, providing traffic/travel demand information, and conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis.

- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural engineering from an accredited institution.
- None required; however, persons registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland or a comparable state are considered to have met the education requirements.

Foreign education evaluation must be conducted on a course‑by‑course basis by an approved service within three days of submitting an application. Approved services include World Education Services, Evaluation Service, Inc., Education Credential Evaluation, and NCEES. Submit the evaluation with your application.
Motor Vehicle Operator LicenseEmployees assigned duties that require operating a motor vehicle must possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license and list the license number and expiration date on the application.
