Systems Engineer
Job Overview
DCCA, a veteran‑owned IT business, is seeking a candidate for a high‑profile government program that delivers emerging technology solutions. The role focuses on commercial cloud technologies, high‑performance computing, and enterprise architecture to support mission‑critical work for national security.
Position Requirements- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Either:
- High‑school diploma or GED plus 12 (14) years of general systems engineering experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field plus 7 (10) years of systems engineering experience;
- Master’s degree in a qualified engineering field plus 5 (8) years of systems engineering experience;
- PhD in a qualified engineering field plus 3 (8) years of systems engineering experience.
- Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirement specifications.
- Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop technical documentation and system architecture and design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interact with the government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
- Assume ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
- Cloud architecture / Cloud engineer / Platform engineering (especially AWS)
- AI/ML system design and implementation
- High‑level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
- Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and Dev Ops/MLOps
- Experience with Amazon Sage Maker is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholder groups, and ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions
- System security and networking, particularly the implementation of system security on classified systems
- Data engineering and data lifecycle management
The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is $170,000 to $210,000, with final salary determined by experience, qualifications, and other factors.
