Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
Position Responsibilities
- Plans, conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
- Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
- Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
- Supports IOE (Instrumentation Operations Engineer) in pre-test check‑outs to ensure that required instrumentation is installed, configured, and operating properly
- Supports staging and check‑out of equipment required for check‑outs
- Conducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown
- Conducts post‑test activities to ensure that all data recording media is removed, marked, logged, and delivered to appropriate facility / personnel
- Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test‑related problems
- Conducts tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews
- Coordinates test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs
- Coaches, trains others and works under general direction
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- 3+ years of experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitions
- 3+ years of experience with various types of sensors and instrumentation including strain gages, temperature / pressure measurement, accelerometers, and deflection transducers
- Experience inspecting, fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
- Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) – an active clearance in the past 24 months is considered active
- Extensive experience in the installation and check‑out of strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers, fuel flow meters, and thermocouple / RTD sensors, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting signal conditioning equipment and skill setting up numerous sensor types for program requirements
- Background mentoring / training lower‑level technicians while working under minimal direction

Summary Pay Range for Mid-Level (Level
3): $68,000 – $92,000
Summary Pay Range for Senior Level (Level
4): $80,750 – $109,250
Location:
Patuxent River, MD with the MQ-25 Flight Test Program. Extended travel to the St. Louis area and Lakehurst, NJ on Domestic Temporary Assignment will be required.
Shift: Primarily first shift; additional shift requirements may be needed to support program objectives.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre‑Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
