Job Description

The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program) is looking for world‑class talent in Systems Field Engineering to be part of a team that carries on our tradition of making history in advanced aircraft development.
Responsibilities- Provide technical services and guidance on installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration management, and mission operations of Unmanned Air System (UAS) Ground Control Stations (GCS).
- Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot products, and modify them to meet customer requirements, providing training to customers.
- Act as an integral member of a technical team responsible for overseeing a complex mission system during operations and collaborate with a broader engineering team regarding anomalies.
- Design, develop, integrate and test various mission system equipment onto airborne platforms.
- Perform hands‑on activities by building and installing electrical and mechanical components, including cable assemblies, computer systems and voice/data communication devices.
- Organize and manage multiple prototype development areas and use special test equipment to verify system functionality.
- Contribute to developing systems such as System Integration Labs (SILs), Deployable Shelters, and Fixed Facilities in support of various projects.
- Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, and Integration/Test teams to develop a flexible test facility supporting development and test efforts.
- Lead maintenance, upgrade, and build‑up efforts on legacy and new systems, ensuring work stays on schedule and within proposed budgets.
- Support the Hardware Engineering Lead during travel, coordinating local efforts and resolving problems as they arise.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent system admin/IT experience.
- Security+ Certification.
- DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- UAV Technology Experience.
- Administrative experience with Cisco, Juniper, Linux or RHEL, Windows, Windows Server, ESXi, networking.
- Network Administration and computer system administration with troubleshooting experience.
- Aircraft modification experience and avionic integration.
- Technical report writing.
- Experience operating/maintaining support equipment.
- Knowledge of integrated logistics support.
- Engineering technician experience.
- Linux/Unix administration.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work any shift to support customer and test needs.
This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
Work ScheduleOnsite Full‑time:
Work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule for this Position: 4 × 10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules. Standard 40‑hour week may be condensed to provide additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
Pay RateThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 – $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
