Engineer, Telecoms Engineering

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Frederick, MD. Responsible for configuring and maintaining telephony networks while troubleshooting issues, ensuring system reliability, and supporting voice and data communication operations.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Configure, administer, and maintain telephony systems including Avaya Call Manager, voicemail, and AWS Connect.
• Design and implement voice and data communication networks, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Troubleshoot telecom, PBX, and unified communication issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
• Monitor system performance, conduct audits, and manage user licenses and telecom configurations.
• Support service desk escalations, handling adds, moves, and changes for telecom systems.
• Document network configurations, maintain records, and ensure disaster recovery and business continuity readiness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8-12+ years of experience in telephony systems, unified communications, or telecom engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Avaya systems (Call Manager, System Manager, Voicemail), AWS Connect, and telecom network design.
• Proven experience in managing unified communication platforms, troubleshooting telecom systems, and ensuring high availability with disaster recovery planning.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
