Based in Maryland, this role is well suited for an process oriented engineer who wants to apply deep technical expertise, influence solution direction, and play a meaningful role in a business that is expanding in an important market.
Your tasks
- Continue driving the AS9100 gap analysis
- Update QMS scope to include engineering/design and establish document control for new artifacts.
- Implement design & development controls: inputs/outputs, reviews, verification & validation, design change control and configuration management.
- Own AS-specific deliverables: AS9102 First Article process, product-safety actions & risk management (FMEA/risk register), counterfeit parts prevention, special processes and calibration controls.
- Develop and roll out supplier controls: critical supplier identification, flow-downs, incoming inspection, CofC/tracing, supplier assessments.
- Create practical procedures, templates and training materials; integrate QMS work into existing engineering workflows.
- Coordinate internal audits, corrective action process, and management review inputs.
- Prepare evidence for registrar Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.
- Track progress, report status to leadership, and hand over to Quality for ongoing maintenance after certification.

- BSEE or equivalent technical degree
- Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred. Practical knowledge of AS9100 (AS9100D) and ISO 9001.
- Direct hands-on experience implementing design controls, FAI (AS9102), supplier quality/approval, configuration management, and risk management (FMEA/DFMEA).
- Experience running or supporting certification audits (Stage 1/Stage
2) and internal audits. - Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills - able to drive cross-functional change with minimal friction.
- Familiar with calibration programs, special processes control, counterfeit parts prevention (AS5553/AS6081 awareness a plus).
- Good technical understanding of engineering outputs (drawings, BOMs, ECO process)
- Certifications desirable: ASQ CQE/CQA, Lead Auditor (ISO/AS9100), or equivalent aerospace training.
- Proficient with common tools (document control/QMS systems, MS Office, PLM/ERP experience helpful).
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically, with occasional international travel.
- To be considered, candidates must be U.S. Persons able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $90K-$120K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
