We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role is critical to the success of our complex construction projects, including industrial plants, healthcare facilities, and mission-critical data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, cost estimation, and construction processes, with ability to produce accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:Estimate Development:
Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.Bid Coordination:
Manage the bid process from initial review through final submission, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.Scope Analysis:
Review project drawings, specifications, and RFPs to determine scope and identify potential risks or value engineering opportunities.Vendor & Subcontractor Engagement:
Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and comprehensive pricing.Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine estimates and support pre-construction planning.Market Research:
Stay current with market pricing, industry trends, and regional labor rates to ensure accurate forecasting.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and pricing data for future reference and audit purposes.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in industrial, healthcare, or data center projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and NEC/NFPA codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Trimble, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
